$25 million was the beginning, now we turn to the state!

Thank you so much for advocating for the arts in Chicago. We have delivered our letter to Mayor Lori Lightfoot and will be updating you about the progress on that campaign. We received an encouraging letter back from the Mayor and believe the administration is supportive of further relief for the arts from federal dollars. Your voice is making a difference.

But $25 million is only the beginning, now we’re turning our attention to Springfield. We are asking the State of Illinois to invest $500 million from federal American Rescue Plan assistance in the recovery of Illinois’ creative sector, prioritizing BIPOC, rural, and other communities disproportionately impacted by COVID.

Join us on Monday, May 3rd at 10am for our campaign kick-off meeting to learn more about this campaign and how the proposed $500 million might benefit the organizations and creatives you care about most. You’ll also receive information on how you can support this campaign with your local legislators and what additional actions you can take to amplify these messages in your local communities.

RSVP for our Advocacy Kick-Off meeting here.
