About Local 769

Local 769 received its Charter on January 4, 1943 from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Moving Picture Machine Operators of the United States and Canada.

Since then, our Local has expanded from a handful of members to over one hundred.

Our members work in a wide range of fields including dressers, seamstresses, costume construction and maintenance, costume stylists, supervisors, key and set costumers in Theatre, Film and Television.

We have collective bargaining agreements with most of the major theatres and stadiums in the Chicago area including Broadway in Chicago, The Auditorium Theatre, The Chicago Theatre, UnitedCenter and Metropolitan Pier and ExpoCenter. In the suburbs, we also have agreements with Rosemont Theatre, Allstate Arena and The Genesee Theatre.

We are dedicated to providing skilled workers in every field of the entertainment industry.
