AIDS Walks & LGBTQ+ Stories

AIDS Walks

One of the IATSE's pillars includes safety, and that includes all types of worker's safety. Therefore, we are participating in this year's virtual AIDS Walk in both the U.S. and Canada. We know that the last year has been tough, and that not everyone is in a position to donate, but we wanted to proceed for those that are able, as every dollar counts.

For our American kin, you can join the NYC Locals in raising funds for the virtual AIDS walk by donating to our team (lead by Local 798's Monet Moon) here:

For our Canadian kin, you can join us in raising funds for the virtual AIDS walk by donating to our team (lead by IATSE Pride Committee Chair Nate Richmond) here:

OR, if you'd prefer to set up your own IATSE Pride AIDS walk page in your area, check out the other listed cities here:

OR, if your city doesn't have an AIDS Walk, you can always donate to your local HIV/AIDS charity, no matter which country you live in!

You can also view the simulcast of the NYC AIDS Walk on Sunday, May 16th from the comfort of your home.

LGBTQ+ Stories

For Pride Month, the Pride Committee would like to feature any members or locals who have undertaken any pro-LGBTQ+ initiatives or events in the past year.

Maybe your local started a Pride Committee?

Added LGBTQ+ anti-discrimination language into your contracts?

Have done outreach to LGBTQ+ communities to join your local?

Or something even more creative that we should all hear about?

Big or small, if you have something to share, send any details and pictures to us at so we can feature your successes in a Pride Month story!

We'll be back in touch in the near future with another email laying out the rest of our Pride month plans.

In Solidarity & Pride,

The IATSE Pride Committee
