ARTICLE FIVE: Nomination and Election of Officers
Section 5. Eligibility
“To be eligible for office, a person must have been: (i) a member in continuous good standing of this Local for a
period of two (2) years, (ii) actively engaged in the industry within the Local’s jurisdiction and have worked for
at least one hundred and twenty (120) days in the past thirty-six (36) months in the industry, and (iii) who is not
otherwise disqualified from holding office under any applicable federal law. Time served as an officer of the
Local shall be applicable towards the “120 days in the past 36 months” requirement. For purposes of
determining eligibility, continuous good standing shall not be broken unless the member has been suspended
in accordance with this Constitution. A member otherwise eligible to run for office shall become a bona fide
candidate only upon his/her nomination for office and acceptance of the nomination. Candidates must accept
nominations prior to the close of nominations at the meeting or, if absent, by a written or facsimile
communication filed with the Local prior to the meeting. A member may accept nomination for only one office;
if the nominee fails to designate the office for which the member wishes to run, the member shall be a
candidate only for the office for which the member was first nominated and shall be deemed to have declined
any other nomination.”
Section 6. Nominations
“All nominations must be made at the regularly scheduled meeting in the month of April. Candidates for office
shall be present at the time of nomination, or have on file a written or facsimile communication accepting the
nomination prior to this meeting.
The Chairperson shall declare each office open for nominations. The Chairperson shall state each office open
at least twice before moving on to the next office, and the Recording Secretary shall record the names offered.
Any member who has been properly nominated for office, may withdraw. The member must submit a
withdrawal in writing to the Judge of Elections within three (3) days after the nominations. A member may only
be nominated for one office. In the event a member is nominated for more than one office and does not
decline one of the nominations, the member shall be considered to have withdrawn from the second office for
which the member had been nominated.
Members shall be notified by mail of the date, time and place of the meeting at which nominations are to be
taken at least fifteen (15) days in advance of such meeting. Such notice shall also state the offices to be filled
by election and the manner in which nominations are to be received and be mailed to the member’s last known
address. A quorum at the nominations meeting is not required to proceed with nominations.”

April nomination meeting, or April 15th. This includes stamps and percentage.”
