Broadway in Chicago season announced

Fans of Andrew Lloyd Webber will be delighted with the new Broadway in Chicago season — not only is the British composer's current Broadway hit "School of Rock" coming to Chicago as part of its national tour, but the city also will host "Love Never Dies," the Lloyd Webber tuner from London that has yet to play the Great White Way.

"School of Rock" will play the Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St., from Nov. 1-19.

The previously reported return of "Wicked" to the Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph St., will be from Dec. 6 to Jan. 21, 2018.

"The Humans" is next among the new shows announced Monday by the Chicago presenter.  The national tour of Stephen Karam’s  Tony Award-winning play, which originated at American Theater Company in Chicago, is at the Cadillac Palace Theatre from Jan. 30 to Feb. 11, 2018.  It's rare for plays to tour.

"Love Never Dies" is a sequel to Lloyd Webber’s "Phantom of the Opera," and plays the Cadillac Palace Theatre from Feb. 14 to March 4, 2018.

Broadway in Chicago also announced two "off-season" shows: a reprise stand of "Motown the Musical" at the Cadillac Palace (Sept. 25 to Oct. 8) and a seasonal staging at the same theater of "Irving Berlin's White Christmas" (Nov. 21 to Dec. 3).

The season is now open to renewing subscribers and goes on public sale March 29. For more information, visit
