PROGRAM GUIDELINES

 

Recognizing the enormous financial burden to those whose incomes are being adversely impacted by COVID-19, the League of Chicago Theatres with enormous gratitude to The Saints has developed a Chicago Theatre Workers Relief Fund. This Fund is intended to help replace lost income due to theatre closures. The Fund is available to all those who have had to stop work and are not getting paid, including those who were on contract, part time employees and those working on a stipend which was not paid.

The Fund is limited so we ask that only those who are in extreme need right now apply to the fund. We ask that those who have other income and can cover their expenses at least temporarily or those who are eligible for unemployment refrain from applying at this time so that those in the most need might take advantage of the limited amount of money available.

Chicago area theatre professionals may apply for a grant of up to $500 on a first come first served basis. Due to high demand for the relief fund, individuals may only apply for and receive a grant one time. In order to make the request, please email the following information to TheatreRelief@ChicagoPlays.com.

 

• Full name & contact info, including mailing address.

• Phone number (we will need to call you to verify or collect more information).

• Proof of paid employment at a Chicago area theatre scheduled to be in rehearsal or production during the COVID-19 outbreak (paystub, contract, agreement).

• Documentation from your theatre employer that you will not be paid.
