A new HBO series from Oscar winner Jordan Peele and “Lost” co-creator J.J. Abrams is slated to begin filming in Chicago in July.
“Hostiles” star Jonathan Majors will play Atticus Black, who embarks on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America with his friend (“Underground” alum Jurnee Smollett-Bell) to search for his missing father on “Lovecraft Country.” Abrams and Peele, a Second City alum who won the best original screenplay Oscar in March for “Get Out,” are set to executive produce.
