IATSE TTF Safety First! Online Courses

I am pleased to announce the launch of two new TTF curricula available to all IATSE craftspeople and locals. The first, the IATSE TTF Safety First! online courses* for individuals, is available to all IATSE workers: both active members and those who are not members but are working under IATSE agreements. The next, IATSE TTF Safety First! narrated curriculum for use by locals teaching group courses, is available to all locals.

You may already be familiar with the Safety First! curriculum books developed by UCLA. These new individual online courses and narrated courses for locals are the exact same materials reformatted as courses for individuals to take in an online/interactive format and for locals to present in a group format.

Please help us promote these free online courses for individuals by sending the flyer advertising Safety First! to your members, passing the flyer out at meetings or linking to the Safety First! page on your website. I also encourage locals to apply for this curriculum and offer them as group courses. This version of the curriculum was designed to be very user friendly and can be used with or without the narration. Instructors can choose which portions they choose to teach themselves and which portions they want taught through the narration.

The application process is simple. All people need to do is send in the application (for Individualsand for Locals). Within a few days, an email with a unique password will arrive. Individuals will be able to log into their account created for them by the TTF to start taking courses. Locals will receive a password via email for their local account containing the Safety First! courses. Three courses are available now – Basic Safety, Ergonomics, and Rigging – but we are adding new courses all the time. Before the end of the year, all 16 Safety First! courses will be available for individuals to take and locals to present. There is no need to fill out multiple applications because once you have an account, new Safety First! courses will be added to that account as they become available.

Please feel free contact me with any questions about these courses and how to promote them at your local.
