Tell Congress: Support the National Endowment for the Arts

Sisters, Brothers, Kin, and Allies –

The arts and entertainment industry took a hard hit during the COVID-19 pandemic. The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) funds family-supporting jobs in arts and entertainment all across the country, and it's been underfunded for years. That's why we're partnering with Actors' Equity to advocate for a fully funded NEA.

In his budget, President Biden has proposed a major increase in NEA funding. Now, as Congress picks up their work on the budget, we need your help to push them to support the President's proposal of $201 million for the NEA.

The NEA doesn't just support the arts, it has a significant economic impact in large and small communities all around the country. According to Americans for the Arts, nonprofit arts attendees contribute $31.41 per person, per show beyond the cost of admission to local economies. Arts and entertainment are responsible for more than four million jobs, powering a sector responsible for $877.8 billion in value and 4.5% of U.S. gross domestic product. Fully funding the NEA is an important step towards revitalizing American arts and bringing our industry back from the adversity of the pandemic, tell your representatives to support this pivotal funding.

In solidarity,
