In Celebrating 100 Years of the 19th Amendment and Women's Right to Vote here are few events and important dates to mark on your calendar for Women’s Centennial Suffrage Awareness Month.
On Thursday August 6, 2020, tune in to hear from women leaders as Coalition of Labor Union Women CLUW, in affiliation with the AFL-CIO, examine the complex history of the suffrage movement. Special guests will share their stories on voting, significant barriers for voters and resources will be provided for attendees to get involved in getting women out to vote!
August 18th is the “official” celebration of Suffrage in DC – it marks the date that the 19th Amendment was ratified.
The week of August 23-29 join Chalk the Vote, a centennial action to raise awareness of the historical milestones and voting rights to all in American history. For chalking the text: iatse.co/chalkthevote
